Groups of related content have similar but distinct colors to differentiate them when they appear on the same page. This can be particularly important as several concepts have names based on an association. For example, Therapies contain one or more drugs. When a Therapy contains only one drug the therapy name will be the same as that drug, however, the therapy and drug buttons will have distinct colors.

Gene names follow HGNC convention.
Gene variants are named with the HGNC gene name followed by the HGVS compliant variant name.
Molecular Profiles derive their name from the Gene Variants associated with the profile. In the case of a profile with only one Gene Variant, the names can be identical. For example, "BRAF V600E" is the name of a Gene Variant but is also the name of a Molecular Profile that is only associated with a single Gene Variant "BRAF V600E". However, there can be other "Complex" Molecular Profiles with more than one Gene Variant. In this case, the Molecular Profile name will be the concatenation of all the Gene Variants associated, and the names will be distinct from each associated Gene Variant. |

Drugs have unique names, but Therapies that contain only a single drug will share that name. Therefore, the context and the color of the button help differentiate between Drug and Therapy buttons.
Therapies all have unique names. They derive their name from the Drugs associated with the Therapy. A Therapy can contain 1 or more Drugs. In the case of a single Drug, the name will be the same as that Drug. Therefore, the context and the color of the button help differentiate between Therapy and Drug buttons.
Drug Classes all have unique names, but Treatment Approaches that are associated with a Drug Class will share that name. Therefore, the context and the color of the button help differentiate between Drug Class and Treatment Approach buttons.
Treatment Approaches can reference a Drug Class or a Therapy. In either case, the name on the button for the Treatment Approach will be derived from the Drug Class or Therapy. Therefore, the context and the color of the button help differentiate between Treatment Approach, Drug Class and Therapy buttons. |
The buttons below do not have themed color coding because the names are not derived from other data elements.

Clinical trial names follow NCTID convention from ClinicalTrials.gov. The majority of the data is manually curated from ClinicalTrials.gov.
Indication/Tumor Type names are predominately derived from the DiseaseOntology.org (DO). A few indication/tumor type terms are used outside of the DO and the source is appropriately attributed in the metadata for indication/tumor type.
