| Gene Description | TPMT, thiopurine S-methyltransferase, is an enzyme that methylates various substrates including selenium, thiopurines, and selenocysteine (PMID: 28552060, PMID: 38159853, PMID: 30308221) and plays a role in modulation of the redox pathway (PMID: 37865284). Genetic polymorphisms in TPMT are associated with altered metabolism of chemotherapy drugs, which may lead to increased toxicity (PMID: 10764140, PMID: 28552060, PMID: 27770449). | ||||||||||||
