Gene Symbol PARP2
Synonyms ADPRT2 | ADPRTL2 | ADPRTL3 | ARTD2 | pADPRT-2 | PARP-2
Gene Description PARP2, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 2, is an enzyme that catalyzes poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation of proteins, which initiates cellular response to DNA damage (PMID: 15743666, PMID: 30104678), and may play a role in regulating autophagy (PMID: 32046043) and genome stability (PMID: 32029453). Mutations in PARP2 have been identified in prostate cancer (PMID: 25111073), and amplification and expression of PARP2 has been associated with decreased immune infiltrate in osteosarcoma (PMID: 32081846).
