Gene Description CDKN1C, cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 1C, is a member of the CDK interacting protein/kinase inhibitory protein (Cip/Kip) family that negatively regulates cell proliferation by inhibiting cyclin/CDK complexes during the cell cycle (PMID: 29614816, PMID: 25262539), and plays a role in cell differentiation and migration (PMID: 21245411, PMID: 19734939), and development (PMID: 31924768, PMID: 9136926). Decreased expression of Cdkn1c has been identified in various tumor types (PMID: 21447370), including breast cancer (PMID: 29428729, PMID: 18325103), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and extrahepatic bile duct carcinoma (PMID: 12028409), and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 11574778).
