Gene Description

WWP1, WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1, belongs to the Nedd4 family of E3 ligases and regulates biological processes including transcription and signaling through degradation of target proteins (PMID: 28475870, PMID: 23799152, PMID: 19047365). WWP1 amplification has been demonstrated in prostate cancer (PMID: 17016436), breast cancer (PMID: 17330240) and oral cancer (PMID: 23849376), and elevated expression of WWP1 has been identified in acute myeloid leukemia (PMID: 29209041).
