Gene Symbol ERCC8
Synonyms CKN1 | CSA | UVSS2
Gene Description ERCC8, ERCC excision repair 8, CSA ubiquitin ligase complex subunit, is a substrate receptor within the CSA E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, which functions in transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair (PMID: 23571135), and plays a role in repair of DNA single-strand and double-strand breaks (PMID: 29545921), oxidative stress response (PMID: 17297471), mitochondrial homeostasis (PMID: 29262528), ribosomal biogenesis and cell growth (PMID: 24781187, and cell division (PMID: 33199595). Overexpression of ERCC8 has been observed in lung (PMID: 39582530), liver (PMID: 30464628), esophageal (PMID: 35063774), and breast cancer (PMID: 33277540), and is potentially involved in chemoresistance (PMID: 41749901, PMID: 35063774).
