Gene Symbol AMER1
Synonyms FAM123B | OSCS | WTX
Gene Description AMER1, APC membrane recruitment protein 1, is a scaffold protein that promotes beta-catenin degradation through recruiting and stabilizing components of the beta-catenin degradation complex to the membrane, thus inhibits Wnt/beta-catenin signaling (PMID: 17925383, PMID: 17510365, PMID: 21498506). AMER1 is frequently mutated in colorectal cancer (PMID: 26071483) and Wilms tumor (PMID: 28825729, PMID: 28326956).
