Gene Description PARP4, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase family member 4, is an enzyme that catalyzes mono(ADP-ribosyl)ation of proteins, which initiates cellular response to DNA damage (PMID: 15273990, PMID: 10477748, PMID: 28202539, PMID: 39885134), and forms cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein complexes that are potentially associated with intracellular transport (PMID: 13130096). Germline mutations in PARP4 have been identified in synchronous thyroid and breast cancer (PMID: 26699384).
