Gene Symbol MIPOL1
Synonyms CCDC193
Gene Description MIPOL1, mirror-image polydactyly 1, is a protein with limited characterization that may play a role in cell cycle progression (PMID: 19667180) and suppression of angiogenesis and cell migration and invasion potentially through regulation of RhoB (PMID: 31609475). Reduced expression of Mipol1, possibly through promoter hypermethylation or loss of heterozygosity, has been observed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (PMID: 19667180) and a MIPOL1-RAF1 fusion has been observed in melanoma (PMID: 38470950).
