Gene Description CSNK2A1, casein kinase 2 alpha 1, is the alpha catalytic subunit of the constitutively active CK2 protein kinase that interacts with acidic substrates and plays a role in cell growth and proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy (PMID: 31277672, PMID: 31500224, PMID: 12244125, PMID: 32626654), and may regulate mTORC1 activity (PMID: 32626654). Overexpression of CSNK2A1 has been identified in various tumors, including lymphoma, breast, kidney, and lung cancer (PMID: 25541719).
