Gene Description

NRG4, neuregulin 4, is a ligand that binds Erbb4 (Her4), potentially leading to activation of downstream signaling (PMID: 10880430), and acts as an endocrine signal that plays a role in lipid and glucose metabolism (PMID: 29106384, PMID: 25565202, PMID: 25401691). Decreased Nrg4 expression has been observed In gastric cancer (PMID: 24728052) and in bladder cancer during progression (PMID: 15583696), increased expression of Nrg4 has been demonstrated in advanced prostate cancer (PMID: 17545517), and a CCNY-NRG4 fusion has been identified in ovarian clear cell carcinoma (PMID: 29633253).
