Gene Description

DAB2IP, DAB2 interacting protein, is a member of the RAS-ATPase activating protein family (RAS GAP) that binds to Dab2 and therefore, regulates diverse cellular processes involved in carcinogenesis and tumor progression (PMID: 26658103). Inactivation of DAB2IP by promoter hypermethylation has been identified in prostate, breast, gastrointestinal, lung, and bladder cancers (PMID: 26658103, PMID: 27858941, PMID: 31666665) and Dab2ip frameshift mutations have been observed in MSI-high colorectal cancer (PMID: 30477644).
