Gene Description

DUSP4, dual specificity phosphatase 4, dephosphorylates ERK (PMID: 7535768) and JNK (PMID: 8626452), and plays an important role in cell survival and apoptosis (PMID: 16778175, PMID: 21317287) and immune response (PMID: 21085614, PMID: 22434910). Overexpression of Dusp4 has been observed in breast cancer (PMID: 12618338) and colorectal cancer (PMID: 23749251), and decreased Dusp4 expression has been identified in EGFR-mutant lung cancer (PMID: 19525976) and diffuse large B cell lymphoma (PMID: 25847947).
