Gene Description ELF3, E74 like ETS transcription factor 3, is a transcriptional activator involved in inflammation (PMID: 22157719), cell differentiation (PMID: 29523781), and cell cycle progression (PMID: 29050229). ELF3 overexpression has been implicated in ERBB2 (HER2) positive breast cancer progression (PMID: 29050229, PMID: 29187433) and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 29523781), while decreased expression has been correlated with reduced survival in ovarian cancer (PMID: 28199976), and ELF3 amplification and hypomethylation in lung adenocarcinoma may be oncogenic (PMID: 31780666).
