Gene Description APOBEC3F, apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme catalytic subunit 3F, is a cytidine deaminase that induces C-to-U mutations, functioning in host defense against retroviruses and inhibition of retrotranspons (PMID: 22001110). Overexpression of Apobec3f has been observed in HBV-positive hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 26760979).
