Gene Description EP300, E1A binding protein p300, is a lysine acetyltransferase that regulates gene transcription through acetylation of histones and other proteins, as well as acting as a transcriptional co-activator in the regulation of the cell cycle (PMID: 27881443). EP300 is frequently mutated in various tumor types (PMID: 25111821, PMID: 24622842), including skin squamous cell carcinoma, marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (PMID: 27881443), and bladder cancer (PMID: 32012118), and may be oncogenic in esophageal squamous carcinoma (PMID: 31632486).
