Gene Symbol EPHA4
Synonyms EK8 | HEK8 | SEK | TYRO1
Gene Description EPHA4, EPH receptor A4, is an ephrin receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to A-type and most B-type ephrin ligands, and is involved in cell morphology, adhesion, and migration (PMID: 23738943, PMID: 12094214). Overexpression of Epha4has been associated with poor outcomes in gastric cancers (PMID: 23738943, PMID: 18837080, PMID: 31966851), and has been observed in the progression of renal (PMID: 31966534), pancreatic (PMID: 24932309), and colorectal cancers (PMID: 18695888), while decreased expression has been observed in breast cancer (PMID: 27478038) and acute myeloid leukemia (PMID: 24764074).
