Gene Description

ERCC6, ERCC excision repair 6, chromatin remodeling factor, is a DNA-dependent ATPase that participates in DNA repair and transcription (PMID: 23562425). Mutations in ERCC6 have been associated with increased risks of developing gastric (PMID: 24289633) and lung cancers (PMID: 18789574, PMID: 17854076), while increased expression has been associated with poor prognosis in gastric cancer (PMID: 30417012), and ERCC6 may be a driver gene in neuroblastoma (PMID: 30012197).
