Gene Description PTK2B, protein tyrosine kinase 2 beta, is a focal adhesion kinase family member that plays a role in regulation of cellular signaling pathways involved in cell adhesion, migration, immune cell development and function, and bone remodeling (PMID: 21482413, PMID: 20001213). Overexpression of Ptk2b has been associated with progression of several tumor types (PMID: 20001213) and PTK2B missense mutations have been observed in uveal melanoma (PMID: 31671564).
