| Gene Description | FGF1, fibroblast growth factor 1, is a member of the heparin-binding growth factor family and plays a role in mitogenesis (PMID: 19561198), but also participates in cell proliferation, survival, growth, and morphogenesis (PMID: 26840910). Increased expression of FGF1 has been observed in prostate and breast cancer, while FGF1 amplification and elevated expression has been identified in ovarian cancer (PMID: 20094046), and an FN1-FGF1 fusion has been identified in phosphaturic mesenchymal tumors (PMID: 27443518). | ||||||||||
