Gene Description MORC2, MORC family CW-type zinc finger 2, is a member of the MORC family of proteins and functions in chromatin remodeling, DNA repair, cell-cycle regulation, and cell differentiation, and plays a role in lipogenesis and adipogenesis (PMID: 29620211, PMID: 27791268, PMID: 30644437, PMID: 24286864). MORC2 mutations have been identified in triple-negative breast cancer (PMID: 30093560), and colorectal cancer with microsatellite instability (PMID: 25117815), and MORC2 overexpression has been demonstrated in liver cancer (PMID: 29620211).
