| Gene Description | FAN1, FANCD2 and FANCI associated nuclease 1, encodes a nuclease that is recruited to DNA lesions by FANCD2 (PMID: 20603015, PMID: 20671156), where it promotes DNA repair and resolution of interstrand cross-links and stalls DNA replication fork progression, thereby preventing genome instability (PMID: 28623094, PMID: 20603073). Germline mutations in FAN1 have been identified in colorectal cancer (PMID: 26052075). | ||||||||||
