Gene Description

PALLD, palladin, cytoskeletal associated protein, encodes an actin cross-linking protein (PMID: 18180288) that is critical for the assembly and organization of actin-based structures (PMID: 17115415, PMID: 10931874, PMID: 17537434), cell motility (PMID: 22216253, PMID: 18342394), and development (PMID: 15950489, PMID: 17431131). Germline PALLD mutations have been associated with familial pancreatic cancer (PMID: 17194196, PMID: 33764904) and elevated expression of PALLD has been identified in tumor stromal cells in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 21738681, PMID: 20436683).
