Gene Description KANK1, KN motif and ankyrin repeat domains 1, is a member of the KANK protein family that plays a role in actin polymerization, microtubule growth, and cell growth, and acts a tumor suppressor in renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 29183992, PMID: 28067315, PMID: 19554261, PMID: 12133830). Decreased expression of KANK1 has been demonstrated in renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 12133830), and a KANK1-NTRK3 fusion has been identified in MSI-high colorectal cancer (PMID: 30279230).
