| Gene Description | FMR1, fragile X messenger ribonucleoprotein 1, is an RNA-binding protein (PMID: 7692601) that regulates RNA metabolism (PMID: 41328916) and acts as a translational repressor (PMID: 33608673, PMID: 21784246) important in neurodevelopment and neuronal function (PMID: 33608673, PMID: 18957214, PMID: 21784246), and plays role in splicing (PMID: 32234480) and DNA damage response (PMID: 24813610, PMID: 39549538). Overexpression of FMR1 has been observed in a variety of tumor types (PMID: 40271197), including breast cancer (PMID: 24092663), colorectal cancer (PMID: 36347844), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (PMID: 34017076), and astrocytoma (PMID: 27683117). | ||||||||||||
