| Gene Description | CBX5, chromobox 5, encodes a member of the heterochromatin protein family involved in histone methylation, chromatin stability, chromosome alignment and segregation, and cell proliferation, differentiation, and morphogenesis (PMID: 32979540, PMID: 33661100, PMID: 34106828). Overexpression of Cbx5 has been identified in colorectal (PMID: 33014884), gastric (PMID: 33344640), and neuroendocrine prostate cancer (PMID: 29487201), while decreased Cbx5 expression has been associated with increased invasiveness in breast and thyroid cancer (PMID: 16648629, PMID: 24840329, PMID: 25588111, PMID: 26791953), and a fusion of FGFR2 with CBX5 has been identified in lung adenocarcinoma (PMID: 31028088) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (PMID: 35749865). | ||||||||||
