Gene Symbol PRAME
Synonyms CT130 | MAPE | OIP-4 | OIP4
Gene Description PRAME, preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma, is a germinal tissue-specific gene that may inhibit retinoic acid signalling (PMID: 16179254) and regulate transcription via interaction with a Cullin2-based E3 ubiquitin ligase (PMID: 21822215). PRAME is expressed in hematological malignancies and various solid tumors (PMID: 20799951), and elevated Prame expression has been associated with poor clinical outcome in melanoma (PMID: 15833814), neuroblastoma (PMID: 15240516), serous ovarian adenocarcinoma (PMID: 18709641), and breast cancer (PMID: 18648365).
