| Gene Description | POU2F3, POU class 2 homeobox 3, is a transcription factor required for specification of tuft cell-type chemosensory epithelial cells (PMID: 29216297, PMID: 41972672), including airway brush cells involved in allergic inflammation (PMID: 31953256), thymic tuft cells involved in shaping the immune niche (PMID: 30022162), intestinal tuft cells involved in mucosal immunity (PMID: 26762460), and differentiation of a subset of taste cells (PMID: 21572433). POU2F3 expression is associated with a tuft cell-like molecular subtype in multiple tumor types (PMID: 33609752, PMID: 42211052) and is a defining transcription factor for the tuft cell-like, non-neuroendocrine subtype of small cell lung cancer (PMID: 29945888, PMID: 33011388, PMID: 42449715). | ||||||||||||
