| Gene Description | SESN1, sestrin 1, is a TP53 target gene that activates AMPK and inhibits mTOR signaling in response to genotoxic stress (PMID: 18692468), and plays a role in antioxidant response (PMID: 15105503), autophagy (PMID: 31929511), and cell growth (PMID: 38516781). SESN1 intron retention has been identified in melanoma (PMID: 30795533), SESN1 loss has been identified in follicular lymphoma (PMID: 28659443), and decreased expression of SESN1 has been observed in lung cancer (PMID: 31857853, PMID: 26695082). | ||||||||||
