Gene Description

RBMS3, RNA binding motif single stranded interacting protein 3, interacts with c-Myc thereby playing a role in replication, transcription, apoptosis, and cell cycle activity (PMID: 21844183), and also inhibits the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway (PMID: 32016951). Decreased expression of Rbms3 has been observed in various cancer types such as, breast (PMID: 30819235), lung squamous cell carcinoma, and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 25588924), and a RBMS3-BRAF fusion has been identified in thyroid papillary carcinoma (PMID: 26314551).
