Gene Description

GRB2, growth factor receptor bound protein 2, is an adaptor protein that mediates receptor tyrosin kinase activated RAS and PI3K signaling (PMID: 39175664, PMID: 8316835, PMID: 7641883, PMID: 26511382), and plays a role in regulating receptor internalization (PMID: 12631709, PMID: 8658166), embryonic development (PMID: 9865697), cell motility (PMID: 18620523), and immune cell signaling (PMID: 19909362, PMID: 16386802). GRB2 fusions have been identified in pheochromocytoma (PMID: 35858593) and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 37234142), and increased GRB2 expression has been identified in gastric cancer (PMID: 19337752).
