Gene Description GRIN2A, glutamate ionotropic receptor NMDA type subunit 2A, is a subunit of the NMDA receptor, glutamate-gated ion channel (PMID: 22291485, PMID: 30544257). Somatic mutations in GRIN2A are frequently observed in melanoma (PMID: 21499247, PMID: 27659111, PMID: 28986867, PMID: 24739903) and decreased expression has been observed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (PMID: 26681223).
