Gene Description

GRIN2B, glutamate ionotropic receptor NMDA type subunit 2B, is a subunit of the NMDA receptor ion channel that is critical for neuronal development (PMID: 27818011), and may contribute to tumor cell survival (PMID: 22291485). GRIN2B mutations have been identified in urothelial carcinoma (PMID: 31192134), and GRIN2B promoter hypermethylation has been identified in gastric (PMID: 18158559), breast (PMID: 21120523), lung cancer (PMID: 21494759), and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PMID: 18288132).
