Gene Symbol CD274
Synonyms B7-H | B7H1 | hPD-L1 | PD-L1 | PDCD1L1 | PDCD1LG1 | PDL1
Gene Description CD274 (PD-L1), CD274 molecule, is also known as PD-L1 and is an immunomodulatory ligand, which once bound to its receptor, PD-1 (PDCD1), results in inhibition of T-cell activation (PMID: 24551119) and therefore, is a T cell inhibitory checkpoint protein (PMID: 31940272). CD274 (PD-L1) overexpression has been observed across multiple tumor types and has been associated with CD274 (PD-L1) amplification, specifically in Hodgkin's lymphoma (PMID: 20628145), and CD274 (PD-L1) expression may be indicative of response to immune checkpoint inhibitors in select cancers (PMID: 32269612, PMID: 29097600).
