Gene Description SPANXA1, sperm protein associated with the nucleus on the X chromosome A, is a cancer testis antigen (CTA) that localizes to the nuclear envelope and plays a role in spermatogenesis (PMID: 27323831). Aberrant expression of Spanxa1 has been observed in lung adenocarcinoma, melanoma, bladder carcinoma, myeloma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer (PMID: 27323831).
