Gene Description ANXA1, annexin A1, is also known as lipocortin I and encodes a calcium-dependent phospholipid protein in the annexin family and is involved in multiple biological processes such as proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis (PMID: 24156336), the innate immune response, inflammation (PMID: 32006544), and inhibition function of Treg cells (PMID: 32300050). Decreased expression of ANXA1 has been observed in several tumor types such as prostate and esophageal, while increased expression has been reported in others cancers, including breast (PMID: 24156336), liver (PMID: 31807177), and pancreatic (PMID: 17215481).
