Gene Description H3-3A, H3 histone family member 3A, encodes for the H3.3 histone, which incorporates into chromatin independent of the DNA synthesis process and appears to play a role in developmental and transcriptional processes (PMID: 25773741). H3-3A mutations have been identified in pediatric tumors including glioblastomas and giant cell tumors of the bone (PMID: 23079654, PMID: 24162739).
