Gene Description HGF, hepatocyte growth factor, is an activating ligand of MET, which induces MET dimerization to promote MAPK signaling and plays a role in cell morphogenesis, proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, motility, and invasion (PMID: 30513872, PMID: 24930887, PMID: 24865428). Overexpression of Hgf has been observed in melanoma (PMID: 30513872) and increased circulating levels of Hgf has been observed in several cancers (PMID: 31512514).
