Gene Description NR4A1, nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1, is an orphan nuclear receptor that functions as transcription factor to regulate genes involved in several cellular processes including cell migration, metabolism, and survival, and also binds to Bcl-2 to induce apoptosis (PMID: 25555471, PMID: 25376494, PMID: 30272297). Overexpression of Nr4a1 has been identified in several tumor types including rhabdomyosarcoma (PMID: 27144436), breast cancer (PMID: 24584437), and colorectal cancer (PMID: 25064356).
