Gene Description HOXA9, homeobox protein Hox-A9, is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor that regulates transcriptional activation and repression (PMID: 27258906) and plays a role in hematopoiesis (PMID: 27258906) through regulation by MLL histone methytransferase (PMID: 27258906). Overexpression of Hoxa9 has been commonly observed in acute myeloid leukemia and is associated with poor prognosis (PMID: 30270123, PMID: 26028034).
