Gene Description HRG, histidine rich glycoprotein, is a glycoprotein synthesized in the liver that circulates in the plasma and binds heme and divalent metal ions and plays a role in angiogenesis, coagulation, fibrinolysis, apoptosis, cell adhesion, cell migration, cell growth, cell proliferation, and the immune response (PMID: 26336134, PMID: 24510988). Decreased expression of Hrg has been observed in endometrial carcinoma (PMID: 21489304) and ovarian cancer (PMID: 22827608).
