Gene Description HES1, hes family bHLH transcription factor 1, is a transcriptional repressor of genes that require a bHLH protein for their transcription and is a downstream target of Notch signaling and plays a role in T-cell development (PMID: 27066918). Hes1 overexpression has been observed in a variety of solid tumor types (PMID: 25139105; PMID: 25234168; PMID: 24492635, PMID: 27066918).
