| Gene Description | APOBEC1, apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme catalytic subunit 1, is a cytidine deaminase that is part of a complex responsible for C-to-U editing of the ApoB transcript and also functions to edit additional RNA targets and acts as a DNA mutator (PMID: 25085003, PMID: 30619092). Overexpression of Apobec1 has been associated with a high number of cancer in-frame insertions and deletions and a worse prognosis (PMID: 29346513). | ||||||||||
