Gene Description CXCL8, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 8, also know as interleukin-8, is a member of the CXC chemokine family that regulates the inflammatory response by attracting neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells and also plays a role in angiogenesis (PMID: 28026024, PMID: 30200105, PMID: 28866366). Overexpression of Cxcl8 has been observed in a number of tumor types including, melanoma, breast, ovarian, renal, prostate, pancreatic, gastric, colorectal, bladder, and prostate (PMID: 30200105).
