| Gene Description | INHA, inhibin subunit alpha, encodes a member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily of proteins, which plays a role in reproductive and endocrine function and has been demonstrated to negatively regulate the synthesis of follicle-stimulating hormone (PMID: 20005735). Increased expression of INHA has been observed in metastatic prostate cancer (PMID: 19436293) while decreased expression and mutations of INHA have been identified in adrenocortical carcinoma (PMID: 25111790). | ||||||||||
