Gene Symbol ITK
Synonyms EMT | LPFS1 | LYK | PSCTK2
Gene Description ITK, IL2 inducible T cell kinase, encodes an intracellular tyrosine kinase involved in T cell proliferation, differentiation, and function through activation of downstream signaling molecules in response to T cell receptor stimulation (PMID: 26936133, PMID: 28635957, PMID: 32049330). ITK inactivating mutations have been associated with susceptibility to Epstein-Barr virus-induced lymphoproliferative diseases, including Hodgkin’s lymphoma (PMID: 21109689, PMID: 21518255, PMID: 22289921, PMID: 25339095), and a fusion of ITK with SYK has been identified in peripheral T cell lymphoma (PMID: 16341044, PMID: 24076779).
