Gene Description MDK, midkine, is a heparin-binding growth factor that regulates cell growth, differentiation, survival, and migration (PMID: 23976985, PMID: 12204104, PMID: 8507561, PMID: 10537068). A fusion of MDK and ERBB2 (HER2) (MDK-ERBB2) has been observed in gastric adenocarcinoma (PMID: 25889497), and increased expression of MDK has been demonstrated in several tumor types including gastric, colorectal, and hepatocellular carcinomas (PMID: 23976985, PMID: 12204104).
