Gene Symbol CIITA
Synonyms C2TA | CIITAIV | MHC2D1 | MHC2TA | NLRA
Gene Description CIITA, class II major histocompatibility complex transactivator, is a transcription coactivator that plays a critical role in the expression of MHC class I and II genes and mediates adaptive immune response, and may play a role in the transcription of non-MHC genes (PMID: 24391648, PMID: 16200082, PMID: 15162420). Mutations in CIITA have been identified various advanced solid tumor types (PMID: 29285385), including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PMID: 23131835) and Primary mediastinal large B cell lymphoma (PMID: 26549456).
