Gene Description FOXO4, forkhead box O4, is a member of the FOXO family of transcription factors that promotes apoptosis, inhibits angiogenesis and tumor cell metastasis through regulation of gene expression (PMID: 30515801). FOXO4 fusions have been identified in acute leukemias (PMID: 9010221) and Ewing-like sarcoma (PMID: 25007147), while decreased Foxo4 expression has been identified in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (PMID: 23707940), non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 24935588), colorectal cancer (PMID: 22125836), and gastric cancer (PMID: 24886657).
