Gene Description MMP14, matrix metallopeptidase 14, also referred to as MT1-MMP, is a member of the membrane-type matrix metalloproteinases family that is involved in degradation of extracellular matrices, therefore contributes to tumor cell metastasis (PMID: 25794647). Elevated Mmp14 expression has been identified in a variety of cancers, particularly in cancers of mesenchymal origin (PMID: 28390905).
